The thing that separates genuine success from pure luck is reproducibility. It has been 6 years since the inception of Manzar, and the fact that it continues to be one of the biggest, greatest and most attended cultural festivals in all of Mumbai is testament to the effort, grit and determination of it’s organisers and their united vision of clear, unsuppressed, unaltered expression. Manzar is the result of a desperate need for creation in a world crazy about destruction.
Established in 2007, Manzar, the cultural festival of the Institute Of Chemical Technology Mumbai, offers a rare chance to create by offering a stage to those who need it and those who have rightfully earned it. Every year, talent from across the country converges onto one stage, offering some of the greatest shows and events ever witnessed. Manzar has starred acclaimed performers that have lived up to ever rising expectations; featuring the likes of Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, Shaan, Lucky Ali, Kailash Kher, Fire on Dawson, and as of last year, Raghu Dixit.
Realising that such a huge stage could have a significant social impact if it wanted to, Manzar’s Social wing, ‘Awaaz’ was formed, that performs awareness drives and workshops and other activities to perform what it’s creators think, is their duty to the society. Manzar is a feeling, an emotion that drives and inspires people to build on their dreams; to be something they’ve always wanted to be. The chance to be a part of it is here and the time is now. Jai Manzar!
